Foreign Affairs Bureau of Yangjiang Visits the Consulate‑General of Pakistan in Guangzhou to Deepen Economic and Trade Cooperation between Yangjiang and Pakistan

10月9日，阳江市外事局局长曾超群率代表团赴巴基斯坦驻广州总领馆开展经贸交流活动，与巴基斯坦驻广州总领馆新任总领事亚西尔·伊克巴尔·布特（Yasir Iqbal Butt ），副总领事穆基特·阿西姆·穆罕默德·沙赫（Muqeet Asim Muhammad Shah）友好交流，就深化双方在五金刀剪、海洋产业等领域合作交换意见。

On 9 October, Zeng Chaoqun, Director‑General of the Foreign Affairs Bureau of Yangjiang, led a delegation to the Consulate‑General of Pakistan in Guangzhou for economic and trade exchanges. He held cordial discussions with the newly‑appointed Consul‑General of Pakistan in Guangzhou Yasir Iqbal Butt and Deputy Consul‑General Muqeet Asim Muhammad Shah, and exchanged views on deepening cooperation between the two sides in hardware and cutlery, marine industries and other sectors.

会谈中，曾超群向亚西尔·伊克巴尔·布特（Yasir Iqbal Butt）总领事及穆基特·阿西姆·穆罕默德·沙赫（Muqeet Asim Muhammad Shah）副总领事简要介绍阳江市经济社会发展情况。他指出，阳江地处粤港澳大湾区西翼，是古代海上丝绸之路重要节点，距广州仅1小时高铁车程，拥有千年深厚文化底蕴和优美自然风光。近年来，阳江五金刀剪、粮油水产、绿色能源等特色产业优势突出，营商环境持续优化，热忱欢迎巴基斯坦企业家到阳江投资兴业、参观考察。

During the talks, Director‑General Zeng Chaoqun gave a brief briefing to Consul‑General Yasir Iqbal Butt and Deputy Consul‑General Muqeet Asim Muhammad Shah on Yangjiang’s economic and social development. He pointed out that Yangjiang is located on the western flank of the Guangdong‑Hong Kong‑Macao Greater Bay Area, serving as a key node on the ancient Maritime Silk Road. It is merely a one‑hour high‑speed‑rail ride from Guangzhou, boasting time‑honoured cultural heritage and picturesque natural scenery. In recent years, Yangjiang has built outstanding strengths in signature industries including hardware and cutlery, grain‑oil and aquatic products, as well as green energy. Its business environment keeps improving. Pakistani entrepreneurs are warmly welcome to invest, set up businesses and conduct inspection tours in Yangjiang.

巴基斯坦驻穗总领事亚西尔·伊克巴尔·布特（Yasir Iqbal Butt）热情接待了曾超群一行。他指出，中巴两国互为全天候战略合作伙伴，根深蒂固的“铁杆”友谊是国际双边交往的标杆，为各国深化友好协作提供了良好示范 。

Consul‑General Yasir Iqbal Butt of Pakistan in Guangzhou extended a warm reception to Director‑General Zeng Chaoqun and his delegation. He noted that China and Pakistan are all‑weather strategic cooperative partners. Their deep‑rooted “iron‑friendship” sets a benchmark for bilateral relations across the world and offers a fine example for countries to deepen friendly cooperation.

总领事介绍，巴基斯坦轻工制造、精密加工产业基础扎实，尤其在餐具制造、外科器械生产领域，拥有成熟的手工锻造工艺体系，产品性价比高、国际出口市场广阔。同时，巴基斯坦本土制造业转型升级步伐加快，以CROWN集团为代表的龙头企业，已成功实现从整车装配到自主研发生产的跨越式发展。9月16日，该公司随同巴基斯坦工商联合会经贸代表团到访阳江 。同时，巴方高度认可阳江产业优势，希望依托两地产业互补特点，持续深化精准对接、开展务实合作，实现双向赋能、互利共赢。

The Consul‑General introduced that Pakistan has a solid foundation in light‑industry manufacturing and precision processing. Particularly in tableware manufacturing and surgical‑instrument production, it has a well‑established manual‑forging craftsmanship system. Its products feature cost‑effectiveness and enjoy broad international export markets. Meanwhile, Pakistan is accelerating the transformation and upgrading of its domestic manufacturing sector. Leading enterprises represented by the Crown Group have achieved a leap‑forward development from complete‑vehicle assembly to independent R&D and production . On 16 September, the company visited Yangjiang together with an economic and trade delegation from the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) . The Pakistani side highly recognises Yangjiang’s industrial strengths. It hopes to leverage the complementary industrial strengths of the two sides to further advance targeted matching and pragmatic cooperation so as to achieve two‑way empowerment and mutual benefit for all.

会议上双方还探讨了建立友好城市关系的可行性，一致希望以友好城市合作为平台，推动餐具、海洋产业、海上能源等重点领域率先突破，打造地方合作示范基地。

At the meeting, the two sides also explored the feasibility of establishing sister‑city ties. They agreed to take sister‑city cooperation as a platform to achieve early breakthroughs in key areas including tableware, marine industries and offshore energy, and build a demonstration base for local‑level cooperation.

此次访问进一步夯实了阳江与巴基斯坦的经贸合作基础，为双方在更宽领域、更深层次开展务实合作开辟了新空间。下一步，阳江市外事局将持续跟进落实会谈成果，推动中巴地方合作走深走实，为服务国家总体外交大局、助力阳江高质量发展贡献外事力量。

This visit has further consolidated the foundation for economic and trade cooperation between Yangjiang and Pakistan, and opened up new avenues for pragmatic cooperation between the two sides across broader fields and at deeper levels. Going forward, the Foreign Affairs Bureau of Yangjiang will keep following up on and implementing outcomes of the talks, advance deeper and more solid China‑Pakistan local‑level cooperation, and contribute foreign‑affairs‑driven momentum to serving the overall national diplomatic agenda and supporting Yangjiang’s high‑quality development.
