Yangjiang Foreign Affairs Bureau Attends National Day Reception of the Consulate‑General of the Republic of Korea in Guangzhou, Promotes Yangjiang’s Distinctive Industries and Deepens Cultural, Economic and Trade Exchanges
10月15日，大韩民国驻广州总领事馆举办韩国国庆招待会。阳江市外事局局长曾超群应邀参会，与各国驻穗领馆官员共叙友好情谊，共话地方经贸合作新机遇。
On 15 October, the Consulate‑General of the Republic of Korea in Guangzhou held its National Day Reception. Zeng Chaoqun, Director of Yangjiang Foreign Affairs Bureau, was invited to attend the function. He renewed friendships with consular officials of various countries stationed in Guangzhou and discussed new prospects for local‑level economic and trade cooperation.
活动上，张蹄壑（Jang Jehak）总领事在致辞中回顾了韩中两国多年来友好交往成果。他表示，华南地区是推动韩中关系发展的强劲引擎，广东与韩国经贸联系紧密，去年韩国与广东省贸易额约达4430亿元人民币。两国合作已从传统制造、贸易领域，拓展至先进制造、新能源、生物医药、人工智能等新兴产业。随着釜山、清州至广州、厦门、桂林等航线持续拓展，旅游、文化、青少年交流蓬勃开展。明年将迎来韩中建交35周年这一重要里程碑，基于35年共同取得的成就，韩方期待与华南各省携手，继续挖掘合作潜力。大韩民国驻广州总领事馆将持续加强与广东、福建、广西、海南等地方政府的紧密协作，充分发挥桥梁作用，推动韩中关系稳健发展，惠及两国民生。
During the event, Consul‑General Jang Jehak looked back on the fruitful outcomes of years‑long friendly exchanges between the Republic of Korea and China in his address. He remarked that South China serves as a powerful engine for ROK‑China relations. Guangdong maintains close economic and trade ties with the Republic of Korea. Bilateral trade volume between the ROK and Guangdong Province stood at approximately RMB 443 billion last year. Cooperation between the two countries has expanded beyond traditional manufacturing and trade to emerging sectors including advanced manufacturing, new energy, biomedicine and artificial intelligence. Thanks to the expansion of air routes linking Busan and Cheongju with Guangzhou, Xiamen, Guilin and other cities, exchanges in tourism, culture and youth programmes are flourishing. Next year will mark the important milestone of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and China. Building on the accomplishments of the past 35 years, the ROK side hopes to work together with provinces in South China to further tap into cooperation potential. The Consulate‑General of the Republic of Korea in Guangzhou will continue to foster close cooperation with local governments of Guangdong, Fujian, Guangxi, Hainan and other regions, fully exercise its role as a bridge, advance steady growth of ROK‑China relations and deliver benefits to the peoples of both countries.
活动现场，曾超群与多国驻穗领事官员深入交流，重点推介阳江产业优势与对外交流资源。他介绍，阳江是“中国刀剪之都”，五金刀剪产业是阳江标志性支柱产业，产业链完备、产业集群优势突出；同时阳江海洋资源丰富，海上风电等绿色能源产业蓬勃发展，调味品、轻工制造等产业基础扎实。邀请各驻穗领馆组织本国企业赴阳江实地考察，深化产业对接、人文往来，实现互利共赢。
At the reception, Zeng Chaoqun had in‑depth exchanges with consular officials from multiple countries based in Guangzhou, highlighting Yangjiang’s industrial strengths and international‑exchange resources. He noted Yangjiang is known as “China’s Capital of Knives and Scissors”. Hardware‑cutlery constitutes the city’s landmark pillar industry, featuring a complete industrial chain and outstanding cluster advantages. Blessed with abundant marine resources, Yangjiang also sees vigorous development of green‑energy industries such as offshore wind power, supported by solid foundations in condiment production and light manufacturing. He invited consulates‑general in Guangzhou to encourage enterprises from their countries to conduct field inspections in Yangjiang, deepen industrial linkage and people‑to‑people exchanges, and achieve mutually‑beneficial and win‑win results.
本次活动进一步拓宽了阳江对外交流渠道，增进了我市与各国驻穗领馆的联系，为后续开展友城共建、经贸招商、人文交流夯实外事基础。
This event has further opened up new avenues for Yangjiang’s international exchanges, strengthened ties between the city and consulates‑general of various countries in Guangzhou, and laid a solid foreign‑affairs foundation for future sister‑city pairing, investment promotion as well as cultural and people‑to‑people exchanges.
