Yangjiang Foreign Affairs Bureau Pays Courtesy Visits to the Consulates‑General of Qatar and Colombia in Guangzhou
10月15日，阳江市外事局局长曾超群带队赴广州，先后拜会卡塔尔驻广州总领事馆、哥伦比亚驻广州总领事馆，与领馆官员亲切座谈，推介阳江经济社会发展与特色产业，深化双方交流联系。
On 15 October, Zeng Chaoqun, Director of Yangjiang Foreign Affairs Bureau, led a team to Guangzhou. They paid successive courtesy calls on the Consulate‑General of Qatar and the Consulate‑General of Colombia in Guangzhou. The delegation held cordial discussions with consular officials, presented Yangjiang’s economic and social progress as well as its signature industries, and deepened exchanges and ties between both sides.
座谈中，曾超群向两家领馆介绍了阳江产业发展概况。阳江素有“中国刀剪之都”美誉，五金刀剪产业实力雄厚，产量约占全国75%，出口量占全国85%，产品行销全球众多国家和地区；作为“中国调味品之都”，调味品产业集聚众多国内外龙头企业，产业集群优势突出。此外，阳江绿色能源产业加速崛起，滨海文旅资源得天独厚，服装制造等轻工产业基础扎实，形成多元协同发展的产业格局。
During the talks, Zeng Chaoqun briefed officials from the two consulates‑general on Yangjiang’s industrial development. Reputed as “China’s Capital of Knives and Scissors”, Yangjiang boasts a strong hardware‑cutlery sector, whose output accounts for about 75 % of China’s total and exports 85 % of the national volume, with products sold to numerous countries and regions across the world. Known also as “China’s Capital of Condiments”, Yangjiang hosts a large number of leading domestic and overseas enterprises in its condiment industry, featuring remarkable cluster strengths. Besides, Yangjiang is witnessing the accelerated rise of its green‑energy industry. It enjoys unique coastal tourism resources and has a solid foundation in light industries including garment manufacturing, thus forming an industrial pattern featuring diversified and coordinated development.
曾超群诚挚邀请卡塔尔、哥伦比亚驻穗领馆官员择期到访阳江，实地考察产业园区、企业及文旅资源，推动两地经贸对接、人文交流，拓展务实合作新空间。
Zeng Chaoqun sincerely invited consular officials of Qatar and Colombia in Guangzhou to visit Yangjiang at a convenient time for on‑site inspections of industrial parks, enterprises and cultural‑tourism resources. He hoped this would boost economic‑trade docking and people‑to‑people exchanges and open up new space for pragmatic cooperation between the two sides.
卡塔尔、哥伦比亚驻广州总领事馆官员对阳江的产业优势、文旅资源表示浓厚兴趣，对本次拜访表示欢迎。领馆方面表示，将积极发挥桥梁纽带作用，支持推动本国企业与阳江开展经贸往来，期待组织相关代表赴阳江参观考察，挖掘多领域合作潜力，促进双向交流合作。
Officials from the two Consulates‑General expressed keen interest in Yangjiang’s industrial strengths and cultural‑tourism resources and welcomed the visit. The consulates stated that they would fully play their role as bridges, support and facilitate economic‑trade links between local enterprises of their respective countries and Yangjiang. They looked forward to organising delegations to tour Yangjiang, tapping cooperation potential across multiple fields and advancing two‑way exchanges and cooperation.
